As the pandemic end is in sight, so far we have all survived.
I am a portrait painter, and can't meet to paint from life.
To keep my crazy at bay, I came up with a project to draw small sketches of my neighbors. Here we are an artist community but I wanted to show the faces I am familiar with. They are not all residents, but friends and kids of those who call this home.
I have given everyone a smaller print of themselves as we finish. I never will show the photos they are from and my plan is to simply show our faces.
No names.
No apartment numbers.
Just my neighbors as they allow me to play with their faces.
Beginning with ONE non anonymous... me.
We are all 6x9ish graphite on gray paper with white charcoal as needed.
